William L. Fox is the Peter E. Pool Director of the Center for Art + Environment at the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno, NV, and is an art critic, science writer, and cultural geographer. Fox has published sixteen books on cognition, art, and landscape, more than a hundred essays in art monographs, magazines, and journals, and fifteen collections of poetry. He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and The Explorers Club, and recipient of fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, National Endowment for the Humanities, and National Science Foundation. His recent book is Michael Heizer: The Once and Future Monuments.
